Day One

So Once again my attempt at blogging, this time with something very close to my heart.I hope to keep up blogging this time, coz I will be dancing regularly-so that will push me to maintain my blog ;)

So cutting the crap and 'stepping up'-I went through major depression for some reasons and decided to give my life another chance and take up dancing, and so 'A new day has come-Celine Deon style'.This blog will primarily involve me sharing my first time experience as an amateur dancer and the phases I go through in my attempt to turn into an 'okay' dancer.

So this dance academy that I have joined is one of the best in my area and I have enrolled myself for a 3months certification course.I will be taught jazz,hip-hop,salsa,indo-western,cha cha and creative.Yeah you got it,its a western dance course.Having learnt katthak for two years,I can only comment atleast after a month or so whether its easier or tougher if you already know a certain dance form.
How it started :
I enter this hugeeee room covered with mirror walls and a wooden floor.Since today was my first day,The warm up session included 16 sets of aerobic dance steps-each consisting of 16 counts. It included the regular free hand exercises as well crunches and side foot stepping. The music was totally desi but on the beat, like tequila on the rocks ;)

Enter jazz..while the rest of the group was dancing on superkool music from 'the blues' I was standing aside practicing the basic steps of jazz.Good part was that ,after multiple repetition of the steps on counting,I got to dance with the group on the music-venga boyz(Boom Boom) it was.It feels awesome,it was like tha baby step to jazz.

Rest I stood and saw the group performing on venga boyz followed by the classic steps of 'disco-deewane' running high on the charts right now.I am sooooo waiting for my turn to do the steps soon!

Observations:
1.Dance is way more beautiful when you see it in person, trust me its beyond what you see in television.
2.I am currently 46 kilos and under-weight,with the kind of strength required for the warm up session itself,I need to increase my calory intake and do some ab-strenthgening yoga.
3.Sun salutations are helpful, because dancing requires a lot of stretching. My idea that my body is pretty flexible because I practice yoga broke today :D
4.Time passes away soon, seeing yourself in the mirror, sweating it out in rhythm and with music is something 'BEAUTIFUL'.

So if you love music and if you love dancing or even watching people dance, then you will have a minimal idea about how I am feeling right now!
